Coconut rhinoceros beetle (CRB) is one of the major pests of coconut and oil palms in the Asia-Pacific region. Since its accidental introduction in Samoa in 1909, the invasive CRB has spread to several countries and territories within the Pacific and Indian Oceans, severely damaging coconut palms and affecting peoples’ livelihoods. Looks at historical lessons and provides recommendations on how to protect coconut palms in the changing environment of the wider Asia/Pacific region.
