Progress Report: An evaluation of nitrogen leaching in the LURDF Control and Stacked N farmlets

Download (2.07 MB)

A farmlet grazing trial was set up in Winter 2023 at the Lincoln University Research Dairy Farm (LURDF) to study the effect of stacked nitrogen (N) mitigation technologies (Stacked farmlet) compared to a Control farmlet (standard Canterbury practices) on farm system productivity and N leaching losses. AgResearch is responsible for data collection, leachates sampling, N leaching estimations and data analysis. This report (Milestone 2.1) covers AgResearch activities during Year 1 (June 2023-April 2024) of the multi-year trial.
