Grouping pests and pathogens that threaten New Zealand’s kiwifruit industry

report
posted on 2023-07-17, 02:07 authored by John KeanJohn Kean

To formulate an optimised surveillance system for early detection of exotic pests and pathogens that might impact on the kiwifruit industry. Kiwifruit Vine Health (KVH) has identified dozens of potential organisms, and there are far too many to consider them all in detail. Therefore, a first step in this project was to group the unwanted pests and pathogens of kiwifruit into a small number of functional groups with respect to pathways of entry, surveillance efficacy, and kiwifruit impacts.
