Te Kāhui Rau: Research Insights

presentation
posted on 2024-06-21, 04:07 authored by Bry Kopu, Glen Skipper
Taranaki-based Te Kāhui Rau is a mana whenua-led initiative that places Te Tiriti o Waitangi at the core of their design process. Te Kāhui Rau aims to uphold their intergenerational obligation to care for te Taiao as kaitiaki. Te Kahui Rau recognises the importance of 'positionality' and their role as tangata whenua, as defined by Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Our distinct 'position' and perspective comes with a unique set of responsibilities deeply embedded in whakapapa, say Bry Kopu and Glen Skipper of Te Ātiawa, who helm this research kaupapa.
