<p>Aim: To explore the possible associations between the bacterial community and inactivation of two zoonotic bacteria in straw-based animal beddings.</p>
<p>Conclusion: Promoting high and stable biodiversity in stored bedding prior to soil application might be considered as a management strategy to suppress survival of zoonotic bacteria and reduce contamination of the environment, agricultural systems, or food products.</p>
