Freshwater Improvement Scenario Builder

online resource
posted on 2024-09-19, 21:32 authored by Olivier Ausseil, Mike Kittridge, Ton Snelder

The Freshwater Improvement Scenario Builder is a tool for exploring the effect of mitigation strategies and land use change on water quality.

It shows the proportion of land uses in the catchment, and their contribution to nitrogen and phosphorus loads. You can then create scenarios than mix mitigation strategies and land use change, to see how water quality is affected.

This can help you understand the scale of change that might be required over time to restore water to health. It can also help you assess whether it's practical for farmers in the catchment to invest in mitigation strategies alone, or if some new land-use options should be considered.
