He Waka Hourua: Mātauranga and western science navigate a safe course for future biocontrol

Why?
- Build a deeper understanding of the EPA mātauranga framework
- Recognition and implementation of Te Tiriti obligations to support an informed and integrated approach to EPA biocontrol applications.
- Integration of Waka hourua model into biocontrol applications
How?
- Support the Mātauranga Māori framework developed by EPA
- Develop an understanding of the EPA application processes
- Work with Maori roopū experienced in these processes and who use these applications
- Working together- we identify challenges and barriers to introducing Biological Control Agents (BCA)
- Develop protocols for working together (Waka Hourua) and integrating the two knowledge systems
